It seems, after seeing this, that there may well be nothing more to say. Ever.
A new comic book is coming out. It is set in a dystopian future (2021) when liberals have seized control of the world, Michael Moore is President, Chelsea Clinton is Vice President, and Osama bin Laden is Afghanistan's amabassador to the UN--which of course now runs the world. The planet is careening toward chaos and violence, and our only hope is--I kid you not--superheroes Sean Hannity, Oliver North and G. Gordon Liddy, who now lives a fugitives and have wild powers:
America's future has become an Orwellian nightmare of ultra-liberalism. Beginning with the Gore Presidency, the government has become increasingly dominated by liberal extremists. In 2004, Muslim terrorists stopped viewing the weakened American government as a threat; instead they set their sites on their true enemies, vocal American conservatives. On one dark day, in 2006, many conservative voices went forever silent at the hands of terrorist assassins. Those which survived joined forces and formed a powerful covert conservative organization called "The Freedom of Information League," aka F.O.I.L. The F.O.I.L. Organization is forced underground by the "Coulter Laws" of 2007; these hate speech legislations have made right-wing talk shows, and conservative-slanted media, illegal. ... Rupert Murdoch's decision to defy the "Coulter Laws" hate speech legislations, has bankrupted News Corporation. George Soros has bought all of News Corps assets and changed its name to Liberty International Broadcasting. LIB's networks have flourished and circle the globe with a series of satellites beaming liberal & U.N. propaganda worldwide. The New York City faction of F.O.I.L. is lead by Sean Hannity, G. Gordon Liddy and Oliver North, each uniquely endowed with special abilities devised by a bio mechanical engineer affectionately nicknamed "Oscar." F.O.I.L. is soon to be joined by a young man named Reagan McGee.
Read an excerpt here. And I do have one more thing to say: how on earth does anyone on the right continue to get away with persecution fantasies?!? How can you write anything, even a comic book, about the impending liberal takeover when conservatives control the executive, the legislature, the judiciary, most governsorships and most state assemblies? One of the great mysteries--and great intellectual weaknesses--of conservative punditry is that it reflexively seeks to blame liberals for everything. At a time when liberals control less and less, this is an increasingly untenable strategy (it may explain the conservative obsession with "cultural elites" though). In the Clinton years, many liberal pundits were willing to turn their guns on the Democrats--particuarly when the Democrats abandoned liberal principles. Can we not expect similar integrity from the conservatives? Must their commentary simply be recitations of the GOP talking points?
