Maybe you've seen mention of one of Psychohistory's founders in this space before. You know, the one who writes: "The amount of time and resources any society devotes to its children's needs is far more likely to be an accurate index of its level of civilization than [anything else]." ". . . each time a mother encourages her child's explorations and independence. . . . These private moments are rarely recorded for historians. . . yet they are nonetheless the ultimate sources of the evolution of the psyche and culture." And the central thesis of psychohistory: "Every abandonment, every betrayal, every hateful act towards children returns tenfold a few decades later upon the historical stage." [Editor's italics] After all, if John Bolton was nominated for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize. . .
